02 / THE THINKING
The Thinking
More than a campaign. A connected communication system.
The challenge wasn’t simply to be seen.
It was to stay relevant across an entire electorate.
SDF had been in government since 1994. By 2019 the campaign needed to speak to a changing electorate while remaining recognizable to existing supporters — one identity across urban and rural audiences, screens and doorsteps.
One political strategy. Many ways to participate.
Start with people, not platforms.
The campaign incorporated ground research and voter intelligence to understand the concerns, expectations and priorities of different sections of Sikkim’s electorate. That layer informed messaging, audience communication, issue-based content and ground-level planning.
Scope of work — research method and sample size are not publicly disclosed.
Voter sentiment
Ground research informed messaging around voter sentiment. Method and sample size remain undisclosed.
03 / THE PARTICIPATION
The Participation
Give people a voice — then carry it into the manifesto conversation.
Ma Pani Chamling
Don’t just tell voters. Give them a voice.
The campaign created a way for people to share ideas and aspirations for Sikkim, connecting public participation to manifesto communication. Public reporting described it as an effort to reach people across the state and gather suggestions for the manifesto.

My First Vote 4 Chamling
A campaign designed around a new generation of voters.
First-time voters were approached through a dedicated, participation-led campaign that combined digital communication, social media, voter pledges and a missed-call mechanism. Public reporting stated that more than 5,000 first-time voters pledged support on its first day.
From screens
to doorsteps.
SDF Pariwar extended the campaign into direct, ground-level conversation — a bridge between digital engagement and community contact. Public reporting described door-to-door work to understand people’s views.
